Default What is so hard about the concept "Run"

ok this was the first time this happened to me . But it seems to me that when you are buying a run somewhere you stay out of the way, unless asked for help right?

Well last night I wastrying to PuG in Ruins of Morah. Tried three times (as a monk) and the PuGs failed to kill varesh the first time and I got frustrated. Wanted to jsut get through so I was willing to pay for a run. A guy in town offered for 2k so I took it.

We get in and this dervish asks if he needed help and the runner said "No stay back" which the derv quickly ignored and ran in and stole the aggro of varesh off the 55 Monk. Now if you are familiar with most 55Mo builds you know taking hits gives energy that w/o you can't maintain enchants. So it didn't take long before our runner was dead. I was left thinking another PuG failure and I paid for this one

I managed in the flury of events that followed to get the runner back up and his hero luckly didn't die but the rest of the PuG (runnies?) did. so of course I left them that way and the runner was able to finish run, with a little extra healing help from me, mainly Healing seed. (we did save Masters too )

So is this common for Runners? Or was this just a Noob who didn't understand the concept?

its not the runners fault...it was the derv....but i have noticed alot of "runners" are requesting help with there "run" of a mission which is bogus...if i wanted to do it i would. I had to explaing to a chap the other day that i was paying him to do it...not paying him for me helping. Needless to say he wasn't successful...so i had to find another runner...tis why i keep a list of "quality" runners that i have done business with.

I was blaming the dervish. Hopefully that came across The runner said to stay back, and was a good runner with builds for his heros I want. I was trying to figure out if runners have this problem alot. If a runner askes me to help then i don't pay. The only reason I helped in this case was I wanted through, Seed of life wont do anything but help a 55/105 with a small DP, and the idiot dervish killed him cause he didn't listen.

hate to say it but the derv should have paid your fee too. as being a runner it happens way too much then the one who didn't listen ends up calling you a noob. sad fact there is always idiots and you can't always protect yourself from them. as for asking for help that runner deserves to be left he doesn't really know what he doing and shouldn't be there. in your case i would have waved your running fee seeing you were the one who helped save the run and i might have given you half of the money that i made

ok Maybe I didn't make the story very clear. When we enter the Mission the Dervish asked if our Runner , a 105 Mo, Needed help. Our runner said "No stay Back" and the dervish (not our runner) ignored him. Our runner was a professional Runner and very good, he saved our Masters Even after being killed because of the Dervish's interference.

I am asking this questions because I am thinking about making running build for missions like this. I want to know if runners come across this very often, where people they are running causes party wipes because they don't listen or was this a abnormal event?

It is 55 not 105 and it is the Derv.s fault as i have doen this twice as you can't get a good pug for this mission some even think of taking one Monk hero. The advice I have for you is that if players at their own will want to help that is their perogotive not yours if you notice the Droks run how many start to run the the run with the runner or any run and the eventually die.It is their fault not that of the runners or even in missions like the one you did.

I heard they made that mission harder from last year.
